Transportable Ranch Home Designs

Customer review - A home crafted for new beginnings.

Meet Marion Maywald.

In July 2021, Marion lost her existing transportable home in a devastating fire, just three months after moving into the Riverland suburb of Waikerie, SA. She lost all her belongings and evacuated with nothing but the jumper and track pants that she was wearing.

Whilst extremely grateful to find a place to stay for the interim, Marion was faced with the harsh reality that she would need to rebuild her life and start over. In late September, she took the brave steps to look for builders who could achieve her goal.

“I just went through the phone book and from there, went through your display homes. I didn’t even know anything about Akora Homes at the time, so I didn’t see the harm in having a look around,” Marion said.

Upon inspecting the displays, Marion was automatically drawn to Akora’s understanding sales team, who eased her anxieties and walked her through the process from start to finish.

“I found Mary to be very compassionate, and the availability, timeline and pricing of a new home were all enticing benefits.

“After I had made my decision to build with Akora, I spoke to Mary again who said that she knew of the perfect home design for me, and we went from there.”

Marion opted for one of Akora’s ranch style designs, featuring a full-length verandah and open plan living area.

Another highlight of building with Akora Homes was the creative freedom that Marion had when able to customise the floor plan to suit her needs.

“The entrance hall featured a linen press at the end that faced the passage. I removed that to open it up more and give myself some more room. I did this with my laundry too and added a large storage unit inside it.”

Reaffirming her decision to build her dream home with Akora was the inclusion of steel framing systems over traditional wooden frames, that comes as standard in every Akora home.

Made from BlueScope TRUECORE® steel, the Supaloc steel frame and truss system is unmatched in strength and performance, and with its seamless connection, offering unprecedented durability and peace of mind to the customer. As well as this, each transportable home design includes a range of high performance, energy efficient products from some of Australia’s leading innovative suppliers, including Kingspan Kooltherm insulation, Weathertex cladding and Colorbond roofing, creating a sustainable home throughout the seasons.

“Even though the circumstances in which I got this home weren’t ideal in the slightest, I can tell you now, that I have really scored the jackpot with the home that I am in now. It is beautiful.”

One home. Endless possibilities. That’s the Akora difference.
