When looking for their ideal home, Micah and Montana considered the fact that they would need to do some research on kit and transportable homes to get the home in their ideal location.
Micah states, “We are in Warramboo, which is about 6 hours away from Adelaide, so we are very rural. We also preferred steel frames, and through research, we found Akora and emailed the sales team.”
Due to working seasonally within the agricultural industry, Micah and Montana were opting for a ranch-style home that they could utilise as worker’s accommodation throughout the working season. As well as their main residence, where they could entertain their family for the remaining months of the year, the Van Loon’s modified the home to suit their needs.
“We ended up removing the deck that went around the corner to expand the overall floor plan, creating bigger bedrooms at the front of the home. We also changed a few of the window sizes and the addition of sliding doors at the rear of the home, so we could create a larger entertaining area.
“We have a big family that we would like to entertain, so once this has been executed, I think it will be such a nice area for us all.”
The expansive floor plan of this ranch-design home also allows for everyone to have their own spaces, with separated Parent’s Retreat and other bedrooms located on the opposite end of the home. This is something that Micah and Montana considered when making the decision to build this home design.
“My dad and I run a business together for 6 months of the year, so we wanted to make sure that he had his own bathroom and bedroom secluded away. Not that we don’t get along, it’s just important to have time away especially when you are working and living together.”
Overall, Akora exceeded the expectations of the Van Loon’s, and they could not stress enough how helpful and efficient the staff were from the initial walkthrough, to when they first stepped foot in their brand-new home.
“Throughout the whole process, Mary was amazing. She made it such a nice experience for when going through the initial design selection process. This was the same with Tricia. They both guided us through everything and offered suggestions as we went through. Nothing was too challenging for either of them.”
Both Micah and Montana were extremely satisfied with how well the process went in terms of timings and the quality of the actual home when it arrived on their property.
“I think it only took 3 to 4 months for our house to get built. It honestly felt like it was too good to be true.”
